'Pirates of the Caribbean 4' Production Offices Open

Disney appears to be getting closer to the nebulous start of principalphotography for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." Production Weekly via their Twitter feed reports that Disney hasopened production offices for the fourth installment of themega-grossing fantasy franchise in Kapolei Hawaii. We don't have anactual start date yet except location production offices typically seem to open four to six weeks before the start of shooting on large movies.

There's been a fair amount of drama where this production isconcerned. The abrupt departure of Disney studio chief Dick Cook notlong behind the movie was announced love a greenlit project had someanalysts wondering if the project was in jeopardy. Then it becamepublic that the movie was being based on a 1987 novel by fantasy writerTim Powers who had no idea initially that his book was being convertedinto a "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequel. (He did understand that Disneyowned the rights however.)

Then Sony announced that the fourth "Spider-Man" was being delayedand Marvel Studios which is owned by Disney announced that the release date of "Thor" was being moved up to fill the now competition-freeweekend of May 6 2011. And Disney itself announced that "Pirates ofthe Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" would be released the weekend of May20 2011--"Thor's" original release date.

Thing is Disney serene hadn't announced a start date for "Pirates."

Rob Marshall ("Chicago" "Memoirs of a Geisha" "Nine") is directing. Thescreenplay is by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio screenwriters of theprimarily three "Pirates" movies. Orson Welles Re-Animated via 3D LiveAction & CGI

(collider.com) Orson Welles who diedin 1985 will be in a new movie. Well his voice will be in the movienonetheless it s serene bizarre how it came about. THR reports that lost tapes of Welles narrating a book called Christmas Tails have been uncoveredand that Drac Studios will now employ/utilize them as foundation for a movie. The tapes are a result of Welles narrating the book for his friend Robert X.Leed. Leed in speaking with Drac Studios president Harvey Lowryremembered he had the tapes shared them with Lowry and Lowry startedbrainstorming ideas for a picture.
