After two years of endlessly successful independent 7 inch and tape releases London's Male Bonding recently signed to the legendary tag Sub Pop Records. Attending SXSW for the primarily time on Sub Pop's roster they'll be bringing their own specific trademark of lo-fi party punk. Spinner fired some quick questions to drummer Robin Silas Christian.
Can you represent your sound in your own words for us?
Sure I'd say it's pretty basic. Melodic noisy sometimes with cowbells.
So how did the band form?
We were already mates and we just kept saying "lets do a band". Next thing you understand we ended up living together and things all fell into place. When we finally tried it it was easy and fun so we made space to do it more and here we are!
What are your musical influences?
If you're saying who are your musical influences I'd go with the Roches. We're love their male equivalent. Three of them three of us. It's simple really.
